Sophie Victoria Manley writes the Violet Cross Magical Mysteries under the pen name Sophie Victor. She is a fantasy and cosy-paranormal author whose work blends magic, mystery, and emotional depth — sapphic, character-driven stories filled with dry wit, slow-burn romance, and a touch of chaos.
Her debut series, the Violet Cross Magical Mysteries, follows a disgraced ex-spy solving supernatural crimes in Sandos, a hidden magical town on the Greek island of Corfu. Book one, Zombie in Corfu, and book two, Crows at Dawn, are both out now, and book three, Silence in Sandos, arrives 24 October 2026, with Season One running to seven novellas.
Sophie is also writing the Haldrin Cursebreaker trilogy, a sapphic epic fantasy series, and is the author of a memoir. She has written extensively on travel, identity, and science, along with a small foray into poetry, through her blog. Her writing is known for its atmospheric worlds, queer heart, and character-driven focus. When she isn’t building worlds, she is learning languages, reading books, going to Zumba and FitSteps, and hanging out with her partner, Louise, and their adorable Cavapoo, Max.
